When teaching, I always center the student's needs and start working based on that. What you need is my first goal: to support you in the learning process. So, I first asked my students about any homework and any doubts so we could move forward. My knowledge of teaching a foreign language, Spanish and English, gave me a good vision of the standards and how they are linked through different levels. I am bilingual, so I can help students starting learning English, too. I have tutored kids for over two years, but everyone is different, so you can expect me to adapt my teaching to your individual skills. I will clarify your questions and give you examples for a better understanding. You can always expect help from me to complete homework or any other assignments.

I have always worked as a teacher or had a job related to school administration. I love teaching, and I believe I cannot do anything else for a living. It has had this passion since I was a little girl, playing with dolls first and later with my little brother. I got my first degree in Cuba to start teaching in 1977, and later, I got my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1986. I came to the USA in 2003, started studying English, and completed my degrees there. I got a position as a Pre-K teacher in January of 2004, and I have continued working with kids of different levels through elementary, secondary, and high school. Nowadays, I can count on more than 40 years of experience in Education. I am a native speaker of the Spanish language who loves to help people enjoy learning a foreign language and culture. I have been teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture for over seven years and am an AP Reader for the College Board. My goal is to continue helping students to succeed when studying any level of Spanish. I would like to help beginning ESOL students learn some foundational English with an emphasis on vocabulary, reading, and writing. You can find a friend on me. Glad to see you in class!
